Decorate the letter A printable (below this post) with markers, crayons, Do-A-Dot Art! Markers, stickers, stamps, etc.
For the above example, the kids used dot stickers to decorate inside the shape of the letter A and glued a stem and leaf made out of construction paper.
Also, I wrote the word apple with a pencil and had the children trace over it with a marker.
“Aa” is for Apple

Instructions:
Glue pieces of tissue paper onto a paper plate.
You can use red, yellow or green tissue paper. (I didn’t cut the pieces of tissue paper myself, I used these precut tissue paper squares.)
If you prefer not to use tissue paper, you can have the kids tear pieces of construction paper and glue the pieces onto the paper plate.
Cut a stem and one or two leaves out of construction paper.
Have the children glue the stem and leaves onto the paper plate.
“Aa” is for Ants Craft

Instructions:
On black construction paper, using a white color pencil, draw three circles.
Cut out the circles, or if the children have the skills to cut the circles out on their own, have them cut out the shapes.
Let the children glue the circles into the shape of an ant onto another piece of construction paper.
Glue on wiggly eyes.
With a black marker, ask the children to draw on two antennae and six legs. You can also use pieces of construction paper to glue on the antennae and legs.

“Aa” is for Alien

Instructions:
Trace a large circle onto green construction paper. (I used a lid from one of my food storage containers as a template.)
Cut out the circle.
Have the children glue it onto another piece of paper.
Provide the children with various things they can use to create their alien. For instance, give them the option to use wiggly eyes, markers, crayons, pipe cleaners, sequins, yarn, etc.
These letter of the week crafts are all fun ways for preschoolers to learn about the letter A. Best of all, they don’t take lots of time to prepare, and most of my kids have finished the project from start to end in one sitting.
