Letter “Bb” Craft Ideas
Letter of the week crafts are classic art activities used in daycares and preschool settings that are fun for all kids. I don’t know about you but I love making crafts with the kids and the easier they are to do the better.
Do you agree?
I have a feeling you agree with me and that’s why I know you will love my letter B crafts!
I’ll be sharing what we did for our letter of the week crafts, how we went about it and how you can too!
“Bb” is for Beans (Free Printable)
Download and print the letter B printable (below this post) on cardstock and decorate with objects for an alphabet book.
Here’s a few suggestions of items you can use for the letter B:
- Beans
- Buttons
- Cutouts from magazines of the letter B or things that start with the letter B
- Balloon or butterfly stickers like these
Directions:
Have the children glue beans (or small buttons) inside the shape of the letter B.
“Bb” is for Bee
Directions:
Cut a 3-inch strip of yellow construction paper and a few small strips of black construction paper. Cut a pair of wings from white or gray paper.
Have the children glue the black strips on one side of the yellow paper and glue or staple them into a circle. Glue the wings and wiggly eyes. Or better yet, use these fun cartoon sticker eyes.
Don’t forget to draw on a smile!
Optional: staple or tape on a piece of string to the top of the bee. And hang it in your classroom.

“Bb” is for Bear
Directions:
Paint a paper plate with brown finger paint. Let dry.
To make the ears, use two different-sized jar lids as templates. Draw circles on pink and brown construction paper. (Make pink circles smaller than the brown circles.)
Cut out the circles or have the children cut them out.
Glue the smaller pink circle on top of a brown circle. Repeat the same process with the remaining circles. When the paint on the paper plate is completely dry, glue two ears to the top of the paper plate.
Use black construction paper to cut out a small heart to use as the bear’s nose. Grab two large wiggly eyes like the ones here.
Glue eyes and nose on the paper plate to make the bear’s face. From the bottom of the nose, have the children draw the bear’s mouth.
That’s it, easy peasy!
Here’s another version to the bear craft:
“Bb” is for Brown Bear
Directions:
Use brown construction paper (or brown paper bags) and ask the kids to tear pieces of paper. Next, ask the children to glue the pieces of paper onto the paper plate.
Draw two small circles onto a piece of brown paper. Cut the circles out.
Grab one of the circles and cut it in half. These pieces will be the brown bear’s ears. And should be glued to the top of the plate.
The other circle will be the bear’s muzzle. Now have the children draw a nose, mouth and glue it onto the lower bottom of the paper plate.
Lastly, stick on sticker eyes like the ones here, or use googly eyes with adhesive if you prefer.
“Bb” is for Butterfly Craft (with video)
Directions:
To make the body: Draw an oval on your favorite color of construction paper. Cut it out yourself or have the child do it.
Grab a piece of construction paper (I love using white paper for this art activity). Glue the oval on the middle of the white paper.
To make the wings: Have the child stand on the paper with a foot on each side of the oval.
Next, trace the foot with a pencil. And to make it darker, go over the footprint with a black marker.
Ask the children to draw the butterfly’s face, antennae and decorate the inside of the wings using do-a-dot art markers, bright dot stickers, finger paint, crayons, etc.
Here’s a video where I share how to do the letter of the week craft activities, Bb is for butterfly. Enjoy!
