Summer is fun, but there is something about the fall weather that makes you slow down to appreciate the beauty of nature.
The trees begin to change color and turn beautiful shades of reds, oranges, yellows, and browns. Gardens and farms are growing with corn stalks, pumpkin vines, and all kinds of squashes and berries.
A beautiful season for sure!
So for this time of the year, an easy and fun pumpkin paper craft activity is the perfect way to start enjoying the beauty of autumn.

How To Make a Pumpkin Paper Plate Craft Step by Step?
- Use the brown construction paper to cut out the stem of the pumpkin. The number of stems you need to cut out depends on the number of pumpkins you will make.
- Children love turning pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns or “Halloween pumpkins.” Use the black construction paper to cut out triangles for the eyes and half a circle for the mouth.
- Add orange paint to a tray or directly onto the paper plate.
- Ask the child to dab or spread the paint onto the plate until it’s fully covered.
- Let dry.
- Then when dry, ask the child to glue the stem, eyes and mouth onto the plate.
- You may help the child with any step if needed.
That’s it and easy as promised!
How To Improve The Quality of Your Lesson
One thing I like to do when creating art with the kids is to reinforce things that we are learning in our lessons.
For instance, I will ask what color are they using to paint the pumpkins. Or have you seen pumpkins in any other color besides orange?
What shape are we using for the eyes? What shape is the paper plate?
Well you get the idea!
